More than 300 baby mink were stolen from a Town of Mosel farm, and authorities are asking for help to catch the culprit.
The theft at Dittrick Mink Ranch was reported May 13, and the animals were not taken all at once, Capt. David Adams of the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.
Mink are raised for their fur, a practice that some protest by freeing mink into the wild.
"Activists have, in the past, released mink, but this does not appear to be a release. They were taken away," Adams said.
Sheboygan County has a substantial number of mink farms, he said.
Adams declined to comment when asked if investigators had any suspects. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at (877) CUF-THEM.
