41 Tamil Nadu fishermen who were under the custody of the Sri Lanka Navy for violating the Sri Lanka Maritime territory have been released.
The Navy apprehended 20 Tamil Nadu fishermen and 5 fishing vessels on the 3rd of August for violating the Maritime territories of Sri Lanka. The other 21 persons and 5 trawlers were taken into the custody in the month of July. The Navy said that these vessels apprehended in the Mannar area has been confiscated by the government. The released Indian fishermen were sent to India yesterday.
