Oregon State Police is offering a reward to anyone who knows anything about who poached an elk north of Corvallis.
Troopers say someone found almost 300 pounds of wasted elk meat dumped here at a site on Tampico Road a couple weeks ago. This is on Oregon State University’s property.
Investigators say someone cut off the bull’s antlers from the skull with a saw.
“It can be very difficult to investigate. A lot of times they’re being done, these crimes are being committed where no one is around to see someone commit them but these people do at times end up talking to others,” said Lt. Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police.
OSP is offering up to a $250 reward.
