Hundreds of pheasants were shot and stolen in an overnight raid in Swallowfield.
Thieves stole between 200 and 300 birds off Spring Lane on Thursday night.
Batteries and equipment used to electrify fencing were also taken during the incident.
Police have increased patrols in rural areas with 4x4 vehicles.
