An approximate 5-year-old grizzly bear named Bam Bam got a taste of his new habitat at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Eureka Springs on Sunday.
The new $100,000 1/4 acre natural habitat features an in-ground swimming pool, a waterfall, and a bear jungle gym.
Refuge staff say the bear's previous enclosure at the facility was nearly ten times smaller, so this upgrade was much needed.
Turpentine Creek is a not-for-profit group that rescues exotic animals from people who can no longer care for them.
The sanctuary plans on adding more natural habitats for its big cats within the coming years.
