The reward has increased for information about the killer of an elk, beheaded and left to waste near Knappa last month.
The reward is now $5,500 – thanks to $500 from the Oregon Hunters Association and $5,000 from the Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society Wildlife Land Trust.
The Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Division is still seeking the public’s help to identify the suspects involved in the killing of a bull elk found with its head removed. The elk was discovered lying in a grass field along Aldrich Point Road near Knappa and Brownsmead Oct. 27.
The reward is for information that leads to an arrest and conviction. Anyone with information to help OSP identify the suspects is asked to call OSP Senior Trooper Trygve Klepp at 503-791-9486 or the Turn-In-Poacher TIP Line at 800-452-7888.
