Two poachers were on Saturday killed by the Kenya Wildlife Service officers in Kuranze ranch at the Tsavo West National Park.
The poachers are said to have engaged in an exchange of fire with the KWS officers before they were killed.
Taita Taveta County Police Commander Richard Bitonga said that the officers have launched investigations to arrest 2 more poachers who managed to escape during the shootout.
Bitonga noted that the government will not relent on the fight against poaching.
The police commander further warned that no armed persons should be allowed to enter the parks and ranches without permission from authorities.
The officers managed to recover an AK47 gun and 17 rounds of ammunition from the incident.
