In its effort to stem the activities of cattle rustling in Zamfara State, the Nigerian Army has deployed 200 soldiers to support the state police command.
This was disclosed by the state Police Commissioner, Alhaji Baba Tijjani, while briefing newsmen on the security situation in the state.
According to him, the deployment of the soldiers was necessitated by the incessant killings of innocent people in some parts of the state in the last two to three years.
The police boss affirmed that the team of the soldiers were working hand in hand with the police officers in the state, adding that, as a result of the joint effort of the security operatives in the state, peace was gradually returning to the state.
He further revealed that men of his command had arrested three suspected armed bandits, saying that,items recovered from the suspects were two AK 47 rifles, one dane gun and 59 rounds of live ammunition.
