The Kerala Forest Department has arrested a farm house owner in Maharashtra for helping the main accused in the elephant poaching case by letting him work as an employee there.
Manoj, a Keralite, will be presented in a court later on Friday. The main accused, Ikkara Vasu, was found dead in mysterious circumstances in a pineapple grove in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, last week.
Though a suicide note was found from the spot, it has not been ascertained whether he committed suicide or was murdered.
Meanwhile, the probe team has also arrested Kothamangalam native Pradeep for being the mediator in the illegal trade. The team was able to get crucial information about the illegal poaching through the revelations made by Pradeep.
