District forest officials will continue their operation to capture remaining elephants from tomorrow.
The Forest Department has got clearance from the Karnataka High Court to capture 25 wild elephants. While there elephants have been captured in Hampapaura Forests and shifted to Mathigodu in Nagarahole National Park in Mysore district, 22 are yet to be captured.
"The task is to capture 12 tuskers and 13 female elephants. We plan to capture the tuskers first," Devaraj, Range Forest Officer, he said.
It was tough time for the forest officials and staff to capture elephants, including one tusker in this region where the pachyderms have been entering villagers and destroying crops besides attacking humans.
