Conservationists are urging government to pass stringent laws to deter poaching to protect wildlife. During a meeting in Kampala on tackling the illegal wildlife trade, the activists said stronger laws will check the rate of elephant poaching in the country.
There are also proposals to improve scanning at major exit points to check rising cases of ivory transiting through Uganda.
