Four men were yesterday arrested by Iten police officers and Kenya Wildlife Service wardens after they were found transporting five elephant tusks from Iten to Eldoret.
According to Elgeyo Marakwet county KWS chairman Domnic Kilonzo, the five tusks weighed 12 kilogrammes and are worth about Sh960,000.
The four - Elias Kipkorir, 26, Solomon Kiprop, 25, Boniface Kipchumba, 24, and Benjamin Komen, 25 - were ferrying the tusks in a car with Ugandan number plates.
Keiyo North OCPD Fredrick Ochieng said the four will be charged in the High Court in Eldoret today.
