Three men charged before a Kilgoris court with possessing two elephant tusks worth Sh2.1 million have been released on a Sh1 million bond with a surety of a similar amount each.
Resident magistrate Monica Munyendo heard that Joseph Ouma, Liaram Mpeliai and Lerumpe Mpeliai killed an elephant on February 19 this year at Sitoka in Trans Mara West subcounty of Narok county.
They were found with the tusks on March 10 this year near the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The three denied the two charges. The case will be mentioned on March 14 and heard on April 29 this year.
