Apollo Beach, Florida -- Three endangered manatees are receiving a second chance at life in the wild after rehabilitation at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo.
The manatees -- nicknamed Lokey, Joleen and Longo -- arrived as orphans suffering from cold stress from prior winters. After 1-2 years of care and housing, the three animals are strong and ready to return to the Florida waters.
Around 10 a.m. on Thursday, the trio was released into the TECO Manatee Viewing Center in Apollo Beach. Video.
