When was the last time you took a break from a busy, hectic work day and stopped to take a stroll around a park with a furry companion? I bet it’s been a while. Working in an office all day can take a serious toll on both our mental and physical condition, so what better way to break out of this vicious cycle than dropping everything and going to meet a field full of dogs!
This brilliant idea to get people out of their office and engaged with some four-legged companions comes from Australia’s “Lost Dog’s Home,” a shelter for dogs. By introducing people who work in office complexes in the middle of a big city to the many dogs looking for a forever home, Lost Dog’s Home was able to find homes for 5,000 dogs living at the shelter.
“The Human Walking Program” successfully got fleets of office workers to leave their cubicles and spend their lunch breaks engaging with dogs. Truly a win-win situation for dogs and office workers, as the video shows. Not only were 5,000 dogs saved, but 5,000 humans were saved as well. Video.
