A Hansford County grand jury indicted five men for poaching. According to Game Warden Mike Wheat, he pulled over a vehicle on Palo Duro River Authority property on August 30th.
“The five individuals in the vehicle and killed a mule deer doe. Of course, it’s not deer season, you can’t hunt at night and there is no hunting on Palo Duro River Authority property,” Wheat said.
Their information was presented to the grand jury and they were indicted for hunting or taking game with landowner’s consent which is a felony. “Three of those same individuals had already been filed on 30 days before this for killing two more deer. The warrants were issued and served on those five individuals early last week,” Wheat said.
Those arrested were Taw Kit, Htoo Hai, Eh Paw, Pah-Ta Ba and Pa Dah. They are all from the Dumas/Cactus area.
