GREENWICH -- A Greenwich woman who shot a mechanical deer decoy last November as part of a poaching sting has been fined $250 and lost her hunting privileges.
Susan Sloan, 53, was arrested Nov. 17 in connection with an incident on North Road in Greenwich.
State conservation officers had set up a decoy in a field in response to complaints of night hunting and poaching, officials said.
Sloan shot the decoy from a car as it was under surveillance and was arrested moments later.
She was prosecuted in Greenwich Town Court and entered into a “civil compromise” that resulted in a $250 fine.
The decoy was purchased for the DEC by the Upper Hudson River Valley Chapter of Quality Deer Management Association.
