Police summon suspect poachers in crackdown.
Three suspect poachers have been nabbed by police
The men have been reported for summons for offences under the Poaching Act.
It follows an incident in Medburn, near Ponteland in Northumberland, at approximately 11pm on Tuesday, January 14, when men with lurcher dogs were seen in the area.
Police were called and they stopped and spoke to several people and seized lamping equipment.
Following enquiries three men, aged 25, 32 and 40, have been reported for summons under the Poaching Act.
Sgt Mick Quinn said: “We take poaching very seriously and work with local gamekeepers and farmer to target illegal poachers. We run a number of operations across Northumberland where we pro-actively look for and target those involved in poaching.
“We want to remind people that it is an offence to illegally enter land with the intent to commit poaching.”
