Poaching ranks among the greatest problems faced by Kenya’s wildlife sector today. In an attempt to curb the menace, Government plans to revamp the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS).
Environment Water and Natural Resources, Cabinet Secretary Judy Wakhungu said the Government would recruit more personnel to boost the task force on wildlife to tame poaching.
An official report on the task force is due for release by the end of next month. Prof Wakhungu also announced that the Government has created a committee to assess KWS operations to address any challenges.
