RAJBIRAJ: Seven tuskers destroyed seven houses and farms in Kanchanrup Municipality of Saptari district on Friday.
According to police, the wild elephants came from Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve.
The elephants arrived at the midnight in wards 4, 6 and 7 of the Municipality and destroyed the houses of Hiralal Mandal, Tilak Mahato, Bharat Mukhiya, Jitai Mukhiya, Sunar Sardar, Lochan Ram and Raj Kumar Mahato, said police.
Aiding to the losses, the tuskers also destroyed wheat and potato farms, said Assistant Sub-Inspector Nawaraj Katuwal of Police Post, Dharampur.
