The coxswain of the Arbroath RNLI lifeboat is to stand trail accused of salmon poaching.
Thomas Yule faces four charges relating to alleged poaching at Arbroath's Elliot Sands.
Arbroath Sheriff Court heard Yule, of St Vigean's, near Arbroath, is accused of fishing without permission using outlawed nets.
Mr Yule's lawyer, Lynne Sturrock, said he was entering a not guilty plea to all four charges.
Sheriff William Wood set trial for November, and ordered Yule to attend a pre-trial hearing in October.
Mr Yule, 41, first volunteered for the lifeboat crew when he was 17. He has been coxswain at Arbroath since 2004.
