The presenter of a BBC angling show was caught poaching on one of Britain's top rivers, a court has heard.
World-reknowned fisherman Bob James, 63, an angling friend of TV star Chris Tarrant, was caught red-handed by bailiffs.
Magistrates heard James went to the River Wye in Herefordshire to have his photograph taken for an angling magazine.
After the photoshoot he and photographer Steve Martin decided to try their luck at catching chub.
But it is illegal to coarse fish on Britain's rivers between March 15 and June 15.
