Utah Division of Wildlife Resources conservation officers responded to a report of a dead deer Saturday that was possibly shot near Cove Mountain road.
The doe deer had been shot multiple times, and was left to waste east of Annabella near Davis Hollow, said DWR Officer Brent Kasza.
“Conservation officers also determined the doe that was shot and killed was nursing a fawn,” Kasza said. He said the killing probably occurred around Friday.
“Mule deer population numbers are very important to the division of wildlife and every time a deer is poached it is a setback to our recovery efforts,” Kasza said.
Anyone with information about this poaching is asked to contact Kasza at (435) 979-4047. There is a possible reward available for information leading to the arrest of those responsible. Photo.
