Foresters of Dhaba range have nabbed five persons for poaching and illegal possession of wild boar meat from Tohgaon village. Remains of the poached wild boar have been recovered from the possession of the accused.
Dhaba range forest officer SN Bhandari informed that Namdoe Shende poached a wild boar in the farm of Bandu Morey located near Tohgaon on Sunday night. Later he sold the meat to Pratipal Ramteke, Pandurang Dhote and Shamrao Wankhede in Tohgaon on Monday.
Bhandari got a tip-off about the illegal sale of wild boar meat. Accordingly team of foresters nabbed Pratipal Ramteke in Tohgaon. During interrogation he gave the name of other accused, who were arrested subsequently and charged under relevant section of Wildlife Protection Act.
