An interdicted KPA official has been charged for the second time with the smuggling of ivory worth Sh92 million through the Mombasa port. Gideon Naftali Osinyo was first charged in January over conspiracy to smuggle 638 pieces of ivory to Thailandy.
Osinyo was yesterday charged afresh alongside Fredrick Sababu and Nyangau Nelson with conspiracy to bring in 1,099 pieces of ivory to the Mombasa port. They denied the charges. Mombasa chief magistrate Stephen Riech ruled that the suspects be detained until their case is determined.
