A group of 59 Sri Lankan fishermen were on Friday ordered to be re-remanded till December 20 by a court in Chennai, Indian media reported.
According to the reports the fishermen had been arrested in September for alleged poaching in Indian territorial waters.
The fishermen are from Puttalam, Kalutara and Negombo, the reports added.
fishermen, stating that the police was awaiting orders from the State government on these cases and investigations were yet to be completed.
At present there are 105 Sri Lankan fishermen being held in jails in Chennai after they were nabbed for alleged poaching in Indian territorial waters.
