The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the disappearance of 55 head of cattle from a Henning, Minn., farm, the Forum of Fargo-Moorhead reports.
Officials believe the cattle — 23 Black Angus cows and 32 Black Angus calves — were stolen sometime in the last 10 days.
The animals are valued at $50,000, officials say.
The owner of the cattle noticed they were missing after a head count.
Cattle rustling appears to be relatively uncommon in Minnesota.
In May, a Pine City man was convicted of rustling 26 head of cattle worth an estimated $40,000 in Lac qui Parle and Chippewa counties, the West Central Tribune reports.
He was sentenced to jail time and probation.
