The Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) would like to refer to the article, ‘What hope is there when officials flout the law’ by Francis M Lye which was published in FMT on Nov 22, 2013.
This department would like to inform the writer and the general public that the department has revoked all the trading licences issued to Anson Wong and his wife. There is no special connection between Anson Wong and his wife to this department.
We would like to reiterate that the department and all government departments have nothing to hide. Any party with information related to illegal wildlife trade can channeled it to this department. If there is any evidence of corrupt officials from this department, they are most welcome to report it directly to MACC. This department will give its full cooperation to weed out the corrupt officials.
As a stern warning from this department, the said writer shall not make any more baseless allegation against officers of this department if he has no proof on the said allegation. We reserve the right to take appropriate legal action against his irresponsible action to protect our rights.
