Poachers who were caught red-handed while taking hundreds of fish from a Southern California lake have pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of wildlife.
The Riverside Press-Enterprise (http://bit.ly/1d8Iumb ) says four Los Angeles County residents entered pleas to the misdemeanor earlier this month. They were sentenced to probation, fines and 30 days in a labor program.
State fish and game officials acting on a tip arrested the men in June after they'd illegally used gill nets to pull 238 carp, bass and sunfish from Canyon Lake in Riverside County. Many of the fish were undersized.
