Speaking to a local resident, the attempted cattle raid occurred in a morning where a number of cattle were drove away by the criminals when the youth immediately intervened together with organized forces.
Philip Thon Nyok has said that raided cattle were easily recovered adding that cattle rustling is a common in the area.
He said that no casualties were reported after the recovery of the cattle from the criminals at Ritnom, a village located at about 10 kilometres away from Bor town.
Three days ago, suspected Murle criminals killed a man in Abiidoor, a section of Bor town between Dr. John Garang Memorial University of Science and Technology and Bor Public Primary School.
Bor County Commissioner, Agot Aleir Leek, said that the incident was around 10 pm where he heard gunshots from direction of Abiidoor, the same area where one man was killed and his two daughters abducted by criminals.
Agot Alier said that police authority is still investigating the matter to find out the cause of the incident.
The deceased is said to be a private wildlife soldier but security sources said that they have not gathered information yet.
Last week, there was an attack in that particular area where one person was killed and his two children abducted by suspected Murle criminals at just a kilometre away from the government secretariat. More....
