Tubbataha Management Office (TMO) head Angelique Songco has testified against 12 Chinese fishermen charged with poaching at the Tubbataha Reef as well as attempted bribery. In her statement, Songco said her office did not issue any permit for the Chinese vessel Min Long Yu to enter the marine park.
The vessel ran aground in Tubbataha Reef last April where authorities found 2,000 dead scaly pangolins.
The Bureau of Immigration has already issued a deportation order for the 12 fishermen on Monday.
But the order will only be carried out once the hearing on the fishermen's case is over and after they serve their sentence. Video.
