Two elephants have been killed in two separate incidents at the Maasai Mara Game Reserve in Narok county. In the first incident, suspected poachers killed an elephant and made away with its tusks at Olposimoru on the Kenya-Tanzania border near Masai Mara on Tuesday.
Narok KWS senior warden Benard Koruta on Wednesday said they suspect the poachers might have fled to Tanzania. “We have launched a manhunt for these poachers, who are killing wildlife mercilessly,” he said.
The second elephant was killed in Mulot after it attacked a man. The elephant, and others have been roaming the area.
