Killing rhinos in order to strip them of their horns and sell them on the black market is an utterly cruel and inhumane practice. Still, it seems to me that so-called canned hunts organized in various parts of the world are far worse.
The Humane Society of the Unites States (HSUS) details that such hunts boil down to a bunch of hunter wannabes tracking down and killing rhinos that have been raised in captivity and which do not stand a chance at figuring out how to save their own lives.
The rhino featured in the video above is the victim of one such hunt.
“The rhino was killed during a canned hunt in South Africa. This rhino had been raised on a farm and was completely acclimated to humans. He never even had a chance,” the HSUS explains in the video's description.
“It's time to end the despicable trophy hunt of them,” it adds, and I could not agree more.
