A restaurant in Camden wants to help the family of the man who brought elephants to Maine.
Jim Laurita died last month when one of the two elephants who lived in Hope accidentally stepped on him and crushed him.
He left behind a wife and two children.
Sunday, October 19th, all of the proceeds made off every meal at Cappy’s Chowder House will go into a fund to support Laurita’s family.
Cappy’s will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. that day.
Raffle baskets will be up for grabs, too.
If you can’t make it but still want to donate, you can find more information at www.hopeelephants.org/lauritafund.
