They may not have gotten to see them as close as they would have liked, but circus fans in downtown Tampa caught a brief glimpse of the elephants that are in town for this weekend’s Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.
Although several people came out with umbrellas and rain gear, Tuesday’s showers forced cancellation of the Asian elephants’ parade through downtown Tampa to Amalie Arena.
Instead, they saw the elephants as they were unloaded from a train car to promote the circus coming to town.
Performances will be held Thursday and Friday at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Tickets range from $16 to $70 and can be purchased at the Amalie Arena box office, at Ticketmaster outlets, online at the Ticketmaster website, or by calling (813) 745-3000. Photos.
