A decapitated deer carcass found near downtown is one of two poaching cases in which state officials are hoping to find a culprit.
The deer carcass was found Jan. 20, under the streetcar's Cushing Street bridge that spans the Santa Cruz river, state Game and Fish said Tuesday in a news release. Tracks from an all-terrain vehicle were nearby.
In the second case, officers found a cooler filled with deer intestines southeast of Tucson in an area south of East Sahuarita Road near Alta Ranch Road, the release said.
