Dear Mr Williams,
As Chief Executive of British Airways, please could you consider banning the transport of hunt trophies on British Airways and associated companies aircraft.
Both South African Airways and Emirates have announced bans on the transport of hunt trophies in order to help protect endangered wildlife and to lessen the impact of their airlines on the biodiversity of the planet.
British Airways corporate responsibility statement says that the company seeks to be the leading standard in environmental protection for airlines. Following the lead of both SAA and Emirates would help to maintain the lead that BA has in sustainability of its business operations.
Further it would help support the work of its conservation partners in both Africa and India by helping to reduce that transport of animal parts and reducing the ability of criminal gangs to use hunt trophies as a cover for transporting illegal wildlife parts.
British Airways have set high standards for airline operation and introducing a ban on hunt trophy transport would ensure that BA remains a global leader in environmental protection.
