IRASBURG, Vt. - An Irasburg couple will be in court this week for what state game wardens call an elaborate deer poaching operation.
Wardens say a search of the home revealed 91 deer antler plaques and 15 shoulder mounts.
Authorities now believe 66-year-old Wayne Dion and his 63-year-old wife Jennie lured deer onto their property with illegal baiting, used spotlights to illuminate the deer at night, and even had a sliding port in the back of their home that could be used to shoot deer.
That investigation spanned five years. They'll be in court Tuesday morning to face those charges.
